How therapist matching works
We don't use an algorithm. A real person looks at your intake form and matches you to a therapist who fits.
How therapist matching works
We don't use an algorithm.
After you complete the intake questionnaire, a real person on our team reads it. They look at what you're going through, what you've said about your preferences, and what our therapists have space and expertise for.
Then they make a match.
It's slower than a quiz that spits out an instant result. It's also more considered. The person making the match knows our therapists — not just their listed specialisations, but how they actually work with people.
What we look at
Your concerns. What you said about what's been going on, what brought you here.
Your goals. What you're hoping to get out of this.
Practical preferences. Whether you have a preference on therapist gender. Whether you want someone who has worked with your specific concern before.
Our therapists' current capacity. We don't match you to someone who doesn't have space for you.
After you're matched
You'll get a notification with your therapist's profile — their background, their approach, a bit about how they work.
Before anything is booked and before you pay, you get a free intro chat. This is a chance to see if it feels right. If it doesn't, you pick someone else. No invoice, no awkwardness.
If the match isn't working
You can switch. No explanation needed. Contact us and we'll arrange a new match.
The fit between you and your therapist matters more than most people realise. We'd rather you find the right person than stay with the wrong one out of politeness.
Still have a question?
You can also start with a free 15-minute call with a potential therapist. No commitment, no invoice.
